Sunday morning in a coffee shop

The old man sitting in the corner
reading a print newspaper.
Well, he’s a bit older than me.
He leans in to the paper
and over it
and lifts the paper with both hands
to turn page after page,
now rubbing his head
as something has captured his attention.
The breaking news section,
maybe the opinion section,
or real estate ads?
No.
He’s still in the news section.

The old lady sitting near me
reading her phone.
Yes, she’s much older than me.
She leans in to the phone
and over it
and moves her index finger
across the screen,
now rubbing her chin
as something has captured her attention.
But.
I have no idea the section she’s in.
